This novel ring first caught my eye as I can rarely pass by an amethyst. However there is much more to this piece than that. The stone is 8mm across and is actually cushion cut. Unusually set in rose gold, the other all setting is 12mm at the widest point. The design has a very pleasing double claw setting whilst the shank is flat and hence looks very narrow when viewed straight on. There is no hallmark with this one, but it tests as 9ct gold and plainly has some age to it.

The size is a UK M or a US 6 3/4, weight is 1.99g.
