This gorgeous take on a buttercup setting was an instant decision for me to bring to the shop. Regular followers know I am a big fan of this style ring, as the design floods the stones with light and allows them to show off their true beauty. Normally I see solitaires, so a cluster was definitely going to make me look twice. The central spinel stone is 4mm in diameter, with two layers of six stone halos below it. If you like a bit of sparkle then this one is worth considering.
The overall setting is 12mm in diameter. The shank has the makers mark W&G for Wilson and Gill alongside a full hallmark indicating 9ct gold, having been assayed in Birmingham in 1973. The weight is 2.46g.
There is a tiny amount of wear to the central stone upon magnification, but it is not visible when worn, price reflects this imperfection.
