How striking is this lovely signet then? Displaying an enamelled red Maltese cross on a white background, this is an eye catching design. The cross is associated with many different things, including the Knights Hospitaller, the Order of St Stephen and not least the island of Malta itself. Personally I just think it’s a great piece of jewellery. The design is 12mm by 10mm with the overall setting being 14mm at the widest point. The band bears the initials JHW for John Henry Wynn and was assayed as 9ct gold in Birmingham in 1947.
