I see quite a few of the ever popular garnet clusters, but this one caught my eye with its less common rectangular or emerald cut centre stone. This stone is 9mm by 7mm and the geometric look is softened by a halo of fourteen round cut garnets, making an overall setting size if 14mm by 12mm. The shank carries a makers mark of JSM alongside a full hallmark indicating 9ct gold, having been assayed in Birmingham in 1996.
The weight is 3.22g. There is a tiny flea bite out of the side facet of the main stone which can be seen upon magnification, but is not noticeable when worn, price reflects this tiny imperfection.
