Wow, if you want vibrancy, then this has it in spades, what a delight this piece is. There is an oval synthetic sapphire of 10mm by 8mm, held in a setting of which the shoulders have been thoughtfully designed to aid light getting around the stone. The shank bears a sponsor or makers mark of W&G alongside a full hallmark for 9ct gold, having been assayed in Birmingham in 1993. Synthetic or lab grown stones have the exact characteristics of earth mined stones, but without the ethical or ecological drawbacks of a natural stone.
