I do not hide that amethyst is my favourite stone and this beauty is delightful. The elongated oval is very flattering to wear and eye catching in the process. The stone is 16mm x 8mm with the overall setting being 20mm by 12mm. The hallmark is partially worn but it was assayed as 9ct gold in 1971.
The size is a UK O 1/2 or a US 7 1/2, but this may fit slightly larger, see below. The weight is 4.42g.
The bottom of the stone does protrude slightly from the setting but as it is curved and does not reach a sharp point it is still comfortable to wear. Please see the photos as this can be seen on them.
